Without a doubt, the return of doTERRA Healing Hands to Pasitos de Luz was an unforgettable moment. The opportunity to collaborate once again with this incredible essential oils company has elevated the dreams and hopes we have for our children. If their first visit was amazing, this second one was truly extraordinary.

A few months ago, more than 400 generous hearts came together for a day filled with meaningful projects, driven and sponsored by doTERRA. Thanks to this collective effort, we transformed spaces at Pasitos de Luz: we created green and recreational areas, strengthened the safety of our facilities, advanced sustainable projects, received a generous donation of essential oils along with training on their use, cared for our staff, and filled our center with life and color.

It was an experience that strengthened the spirit of service and love, bringing together people from different countries who dedicated their time, energy, and resources to improve the lives of children facing significant challenges.

Our deepest thanks to doTERRA and to each of the more than 400 wellness advocates who planted seeds of hope and transformation. We trust these seeds will continue to grow and leave a lasting impact on future generations.

If you, your company, or your organization would like to be part of initiatives like this, we would love to hear from you get in touch with us!

doTERRA Impact Projects

Wall Plastering

👥 90 Volunteers

One of the largest activities. Stucco was applied to both interior and exterior walls to strengthen and enhance the appearance of the center. Volunteers prepared the mixture, transported it using wheelbarrows, and worked in pairs using plastering tools. Hands-on demonstrations were provided for those who had never done this type of work before. The result: stronger, protected walls built to last for many years.

This structural improvement not only beautifies the space but also provides greater safety and protection for the children at Pasitos de Luz. Having well-maintained facilities creates a more reliable, weather-resistant environment where children can play, learn, and receive therapies in safe and dignified conditions.

General White Painting

👥 50 Volunteers

Volunteers were divided into teams to paint different areas of the center using white paint. Exterior spaces and common walls were covered. The use of brushes, rollers, and extension poles allowed the work to be carried out efficiently, improving the overall appearance while promoting cleanliness and order.

This renovation not only enhances the image of the center, but also creates a brighter, safer, and more welcoming environment for the children. A clean and well-maintained space contributes to their emotional well-being, provides a more comfortable place for their development, and reflects the care and commitment of the community toward them.

Panel Washing and Roof Cleaning

👥 30 Volunteers

A deep cleaning of solar panels and rooftops was carried out using extension tools, soap, brooms, and pressure equipment. This activity ensures greater efficiency in solar energy capture while also improving the overall cleanliness of the facility. The team demonstrated great physical effort and commitment throughout the process.

Although these areas are not directly accessible to the children, their maintenance plays a key role in the center’s proper functioning. It helps generate energy savings and allows more resources to be directed toward the children’s care and daily support.

Maintenance and Restoration of Sheds

👥 50 Volunteers

Volunteers worked on sanding and painting PTR-type metal structures, applied anti-corrosion coatings, and restored shade structures. Corrugated sheets and metal fencing were also installed to provide better sun protection. This structural effort gave new life to the center’s shaded and resting areas.

These improvements provide children at Pasitos de Luz with safer, cooler, and more comfortable spaces to rest, play, and receive therapies outdoors protecting them from the heat and enhancing their overall well-being.

Planting

👥 30 Volunteers

Volunteers were divided into teams across different areas, planting more than 300 plants, enriching the soil, and placing identification signs. This effort not only beautifies the environment but also promotes emotional well-being and a stronger connection with nature.

For the children at Pasitos de Luz, these green spaces provide a more relaxing, stimulating, and harmonious environment, supporting their sensory and emotional development.

Parent and Volunteer Interaction

👥 20 Volunteers
Calm and clean areas were set up with treatment tables and aromatherapy to welcome parents and volunteers into a space focused on well-being. This activity aimed to provide moments of care, relaxation, and emotional support, strengthening the connection with families.

By supporting the emotional well-being of parents, children benefit as well. Having calmer, supported caregivers helps create a stronger and more nurturing environment in which they can grow and thrive.

Eco-Friendly Dry Toilet Construction

👥 10 Volunteers

An ecological dry toilet was built using a metal structure, panels, wood, blocks, and roofing sheets. Additional tasks included painting, sanding, installing partitions, and mixing cement. This new space promotes sustainability and functionality within the center.

It also provides children at Pasitos de Luz with more hygienic and environmentally friendly facilities, contributing to their health and overall well-being.

Pond Flooring and Walkway Construction

👥 20 Volunteers

Divided into two teams, volunteers cleaned, leveled, and poured concrete for both the base of a pond and new walkways. These improvements make transit areas safer and more accessible, especially for individuals with limited mobility.

This directly benefits the children at Pasitos de Luz by making daily movement easier and providing them with greater safety and independence within the center.

Tile and Glass Cleaning

👥 5 Volunteers

This small but powerful team carried out a deep cleaning of the pool area, removing limescale and stubborn stains from tiles and glass. The result was a much more hygienic and visually appealing aquatic space for therapy sessions.

Thanks to this effort, children now have a cleaner and safer environment for their aquatic therapies, which are essential for their physical and emotional development.

Murals

👥 50 Volunteers

Divided into five groups, volunteers painted thematic murals using brushes and acrylic paint. Each mural represents values such as inclusion, joy, and diversity. These spaces now inspire, communicate meaningful messages, and bring color to the environment at Pasitos de Luz.

For the children, these murals not only beautify their surroundings, but also reinforce positive messages and stimulate their imagination, creativity, and sense of belonging.

Sensory Pathway

👥 15 Volunteers

A creative and functional project that brought to life a sensory pathway using bricks, neon paint, recycled materials, and natural fillers. Handmade curtains were also installed using fishing line, bottle caps, and other objects, creating unique sensory stimuli for therapy.

This space provides children with a playful and therapeutic tool that stimulates their senses, supports their neurological development, and enriches their rehabilitation process in a fun and meaningful way.

Pasitos de Luz Facade Restoration

👥 20 Volunteers

The center’s facade was fully restored through plastering, painting, installation of metal fencing, planting greenery, and blockwork. This transformation created a renewed, welcoming, and secure first impression for everyone arriving at Pasitos de Luz.

For the children, this change means entering a space that reflects care, order, and warmth—strengthening their sense of belonging and confidence from the very first moment.

Orchid Wall Waterproofing

👥 5 Volunteers

Acrylic waterproofing was applied to a vertical wall, and orchids were mounted on carved wooden trunks, secured with wire. This space has been transformed into a small vertical garden that blends beauty, art, and nature.

For the children at Pasitos de Luz, this green corner offers a more harmonious and stimulating environment, promoting calm, curiosity, and a deeper connection with nature as part of their daily experience.

Kiosk Insulation Improvement

👥 5 Volunteers

Thermal insulation in the kiosk was improved by installing foam panels on the ceiling, making the space cooler, more functional, and visually clean.

Thanks to these improvements, children now have a more comfortable and refreshing area for outdoor activities, supporting their well-being and helping them stay focused throughout the day.
